Time to Hit the Water

Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. we will open the Beach 4 gate so that everyone can start putting their watercraft on the beach. We are no longer staggering this as new wooden boat racks have been built. And there are also two new additional metal boat racks. That said, we hope to have plenty of room for everyone's watercraft.

If you cannot make the Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. window, please reach out to a Beach 4 representative and we will be more than happy to help. Our information is always available on the LHA website.

Please note that we have been keeping the Beach 4 gate locked to prevent youngsters and young adults from gathering on Beach 4 as a number of them have not been observing social distancing.

Beach 4 boat storage considerations:

  1. Is the boat labeled with the tag number?

  2. Each tag is allowed one section of boat rack space.

  3. Members supply their own locks (and they must be removed at the end of the season with the boats).

  4. Boats should be stored with the cockpit facing down to limit the water collection.

  5. Please do not create your own storage areas. Boats not stored correctly may be impounded by the board.

  6. Storage selection is on a first come first serve basis. Please do not add any markings to the racks in an attempt to stake claim.

  7. Please do not leave any accessories with boats (paddles, oars, motors, fishing gear, etc.).

Boat rack capacities at Beach 4:

- New wooden racks (2) Furthest from the sand: These are designed to securely hold small watercraft like kayaks and paddleboards. There are a total of 12 spaces on these racks.

- Wooden racks closer to the beach (4): These have larger straight arms and can store either canoes, kayaks, or paddleboards. There are a total of 24 spaces on these racks.

-Orange metal racks next to parking lot: These racks can each store 4 kayaks or paddle boards on the arms, and then 2 canoes each on the padded base of the rack.

- Larger boat storage: We are working on a storage area between the wooden racks and the driveway to lineup these types of boats neatly. Additional storage for larger boats will be across the driveway, under the trees.
